Seal of Biliteracy
The Seal of Biliteracy was announced in ND in 2019!
Gold and Silver seals will be awarded to students demonstrating proficiency in a language in addition to English. The student will be awarded a certificate from the Superintendent of Public Instruction with a seal to affix on their diploma and an identifier on their high school transcript through eTranscript.
Do you need help getting started at your school? FLAND’s seal of biliteracy committee had been working hard to put together documents to get you started. Check out the newly updated folder of information by clicking HERE. If your school has already implemented the Seal of Biliteracy, you may be able to find documents that make your life easier. Additionally, if you have documents to share or ideas that have worked well for your district, please email Laine Martinez and she would love to add them to the files.
Currently, the FLAND Seal of Biliteracy Committee is communicating with universities in North Dakota to see if they will accept Seal of Biliteracy for placement purposes.
